چکیده
The lateral vibration of cracked isotropic thick beams is investigated. Generally, the analysis beam based on line elements can be undertaken using either Timoshenko theory or a third order (TSDT) such as Reddy theory. TSDT superior to theory, it eliminates need for shear correction coefficient. However, there no available solution which main focus this paper. investigated divided into several where their stiffness and mass matrices are derived Each element has two nodes with 3 degrees freedom (1 2 rotational) at each node. crack was modeled rotating springs stiffnesses that varied depth. A Simple Finite Element Procedure for Free Vibration and Buckling Analysis of Cracked Beam-Like Structures
In this study, a novel and very simple finite element procedure is presented for free vibration and buckling analysis of slim beam-like structures damaged by edge cracks. A cracked region of a beam is modeled using a very short element with reduced second moment of area (I). For computing reduced I in a cracked region, the elementary theory of bending of beams and local flexibility approach are...

A weak form Galerkin finite element model for the nonlinear quasi-static and fully transient analysis of initially straight viscoelastic beams is developed using the kinematic assumptions of the third-order Reddy beam theory. The formulation assumes linear viscoelastic material properties and is applicable to problems involving small strains and moderate rotations. The viscoelastic constitutive...

متن کاملSpectrally formulated finite element for vibration analysis of an Euler-Bernoulli beam on Pasternak foundation
In this article, vibration analysis of an Euler-Bernoulli beam resting on a Pasternak-type foundation is studied. The governing equation is solved by using a spectral finite element model (SFEM). The solution involves calculating wave and time responses of the beam. The Fast Fourier Transform function is used for temporal discretization of the governing partial differential equation into a se...
